Our Instructors

Nancy Volante

Completed her MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts, from Goddard College in Vermont. She is a Certified Movement Specialist from the The New School of Social Research NYC.

I received my RYT 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification as a Vinyasa Teacher from Saraswati’s Yoga Joint with Donna Jackson, completed my Certification for Restorative Yoga training with Jillian Pransky and Core Awareness Certification with Liz Koch. My former years as a concert dancer inform my movement and yoga practice in a way that creates breath, rhythm and flow. My classes are challenging yet accessible through attentive cueing, modification, and compassion. I am passionate about the balance between the somatic movement practices and restorative aspects of yoga.

I have integrated my years of  training in different movement modalities of body alignment/movement and have combined this with asana classes and restorative yoga classes to explore the mind, body and soul connection for self-care, creativity and personal potential/growth. My intention is to create a space that empowers people of all ages and different walks of life to connect with themselves and others on and off the mat.

I have studied Astrology for over 20 years and bring that science of human growth into my work. I have just completed my Certification for Wellness & Life Coaching for personal growth, creativity and healing trauma. Trauma has affected all of us at one time or another in our lives. This type of trauma small or large may include generational trauma, relationship issues and how we can for ourselves.

I will be using the ARCH Medicine Wheel as a healing and meditation modality along with my coaching training, yoga, movement and astrology. My training for my coaching career was under the teaching of Heather Ensworth, PH.D Clinical Psychologist and Astrologer and Kristina Lea, MA. Both authors of the best selling book: From Trauma to Freedom One Woman’s Journey and a Holistic Guide to Healing. I am beginning my training at the Integrative Wellness Academy to further my coaching certificate.

I love to cook, travel, garden and spend time with my family and dog (Koda and sister Luna) while maintaining my personal meditation practice and yoga/movement practice. I am a life long student and passionate about the mind/body/soul connection.

I have always embraced movement and exercise in my life. I started dancing at the age of three and continued through high school, where I earned a teaching degree from Dance Masters of America. When I transitioned from the dance world to earn my master’s degrees in Chemistry and Aquatic Resource Management, I felt a sense of not being my authentic self that I could not shake. I turned to Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do for fulfillment. Working my way up to a third-degree black belt, I won grand champion in a multi-state tournament and started my own studio. Years later, when I discovered Yoga, I realized that this is where I was always meant to be. I have finally found home.

I’ve been practicing yoga for over 20 years, earning my 200-hour certification with Lyn Kehoe and my 500-hour certification with Gina Norman. My practice and teaching have evolved over the years to more of a ‘you do you’ type of practice. I encourage my students to practice self-advocacy, embrace their intuition, and let that guide their practice. Choices and options are always given in my class, from supporting the poses by using blocks and blankets to increasing the energy level by adding more core work. I strive to enable and support my students in having a practice that is kind and consistent.

Teaching at Imagine Yoga since the doors first opened has afforded me the opportunity to cultivate wonderful connections with students and teachers and impart years of study and skills and practice with others.  It is my honor and privilege to engage with others as a teacher (and continued student) in the practice of yoga.

I am fortunate to have had so many wonderful teachers and mentors throughout the years: studying the various styles and lineages of Ashtanga, Anusara, Yin, Restorative, Chair and Trauma Sensitive yoga along with Fascia release techniques.

My journey teaching began many years ago after completing my first training in 2006.  My personal practice has helped me through some challenging times and teaching has allowed me to share the joy of both movement and Sangha with my students. It is with Gratitude that I begin every morning and with Gratitude that I end every evening.  I look forward to practicing with you and connecting through movement and breath.  May you find peace, love, joy, wonder and wisdom on your journey each and every day.

Beth Perlman

As a lifelong lover of dance and movement, yoga has been the perfect compliment to her careers in teaching preschool ballet and as an instructor of CPR and First Aid. She hopes as a teacher to offer with heartfelt sincerity the infinite gifts and possibilities a yoga practice can provide. Beth hopes to offer classes to all students where they can move with their ever evolving body. To find a space to breathe, find community, and feel welcome.

I received my BA from Goucher College in Dance Therapy and Psychology which started me down the path of anatomy, movement and wellbeing. My 200 hour training at Yoga Culture in Danbury in 2013 gave the perfect base to continue exploring the vast aspects of the practice. I have felt the expertise in anatomy and cueing I gained from this training have been instrumental to the teacher I have am today.I have certifications and training in Restorative Yoga with Jillian Pransky, Yin Yoga with Keisha Battles and Candace Jennings, The Science of Yoga with Ann Swanson, Yoga for Scoliosis (part 1) with Elise Browning Miller, and Accessible Yoga Teacher Training with Jivana Heyman. Continuing education keeps my teaching alive and relevant.

I evolved from a yoga practitioner to a yoga instructor, following a career as a lawyer. I continue my yoga evolution. Yoga’s invitation to explore our external and internal energetic experiences draws me to the practice. My first yoga training was in the Vinyasa style, cultivating a mindful sequence of movement with breath through Sat Shakti 200 Hour Teacher Training with Liz Shulman Ortiz. My recent focus has been on Yin Yoga, focusing on the subtle energy layers of the body in long held stretches on the mat to hydrate and massage the fascia and energy channels, as informed by Traditional Chinese Medicine, through  several certifications  from the Summers School of Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Josh Summers.  I enjoy guiding Yoga Nidra  meditations to further explore energetic transformations. I am also certified in Exhale to Inhale Teacher Training in trauma informed yoga. I am grateful for each opportunity to continue to learn and grow with those joining me on the mat in classes at the studio.

Laura Cuervo

I am a 200hr yoga teacher, Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Certified Meditation teacher. My Mental Health background passionately embraces Mindfulness techniques and brings a well rounded awareness to my Vinyasa classes. In my classes, I create the opportunity for students to find a connection between mind, body and soul. Moving through the emotional landscape of the body with conscious breathing awakens the whole body and supports a process of self-discovery.

Juliana Dobransky

I have been practicing yoga for 10 years and received my RYT200 at One Yoga school in Delaware in 2018. Through my training I learned that as we open up the body in new ways, we also create new pathways of thought in the mind. We release old, stuck patterns and invite in loving and pure energy. In my classes I guide students through intuitive movement and breathwork to connect inward. My teaching style is a blend of soft and powerful, finding the balance between effort and ease. I truly love this work and am grateful to be a part of the Imagine Yoga community.

⁣I am passionate about supporting those who seek to heal, allowing a conscious connection with their true nature through movement and mindfulness. I believe that we are all born with a boundless source of love and inherent wisdom within, and it is each of our birthright to access it.
